Making Memories in February: 34 Highlights

In keeping with my birthday month tradition, here are some of my favorite memories made throughout February.  This is my seventh go at documenting the fun parts of February (because, let’s face it, it’s a pretty depressing month weather-wise!) as I force others to celebrate along with me.  🙂  The last couple years are here and here on the blog.  As you’ll see, the focus wasn’t on fancy photography, but on capturing the memories.  Thanks to all who helped make it a great month!

Baby Lucy

Hello there!

Little Lucy made her debut in January and I really enjoyed documenting her newborn stage and her family of four in these photos from the end of January.  It was such a great excuse to get to know the wonderful Smith family.  I had trouble narrowing down the photos for this blog post as the girls did such a great job and I ended up with a lot of sweet moments.  Hope you enjoy these photos of this lovely family!

The Beringer Family Has Grown!

Hello there!  I’m finally getting a bit caught up on photos and wanted to share photos of these great people with you.  You may remember this family from my trip to Cambodia a couple years ago.  They were home for a few months and I had the pleasure of catching up with them about life in Phnom Penh and really enjoyed meeting their newest son last month!  We had a great time borrowing our friend’s parents’ home for a quick photo shoot to document the start of this new stage of life now that they’re a family of four.  It was great to see how their oldest son has grown and little Elim did a great job looking cute for these photos.  🙂  Enjoy the pics!

Nathan is One!

Hello there!  I hope you’re all staying warm and are enjoying February!  Last month I had the privilege of taking photos of Mr. Nathan when he turned one year old.  This family is one of my repeat clients and I so appreciate the chance to document their family milestones!  Enjoy these photos and stay warm out there!!

The Fredells

I had the fantastic privilege last month of photographing my high school friends’ family.  They recently returned from adopting their two adorable daughters and I had a wonderful time doing a little photo shoot with them.  You may remember Samantha from our Hawaiian adventure last spring.  We’ve been friends since junior high and have stacked up quite a few fun shared memories and travels over the years.  I’m so glad she and Jeremy asked me to document their first official family photos for them!

Honduran Countryside

In my last post, I showed you some sites from the city of Tegucigalpa from my trip in November.  I had the chance to leave the city a couple times to visit a school and coffee plantation in a cloud forest, as well as going to my friends’ wedding at a beautiful place called Casa Blanca in the village of Santa Lucia.  I’ve also included a few personal photos at the end since the focus of my trip was more on people than places and I wanted to share a little bit of the great time I had with some of my favorite people who happen to live in Honduras.  🙂

Breaking photography rules again and posting a photo taken through a car window. I just loved what a classic Honduran scene it is… had to share.

Tegus in November

I spent my Thanksgiving break in Tegucigalpa, Honduras visiting friends and enjoying the country that I consider my second home.  I taught first grade at International School of Tegucigalpa from 2003 to 2006 and love returning every few years to see my friends and former students.  Tegucigalpa often gets dogged as not being a very picturesque city (and also having a really short runway, which makes for very adventurous plane landings), but I have to say that through my time there I’ve learned to love good old “Tegus” and the beauty it possesses.  This post has some of my favorite photos from the time I spent in the city back in November.  I’ll do a separate post soon with some highlights from my time outside the city.  Enjoy!

There’s probably some rule that I’m breaking right now by posting a photo that I took through a car window, but I’m ok with that. It was fun to see new roads and other improvements that have been made to the city since I lived there.

This is taken from the plane about to take off. The black gate shows where a road used to be... the runway has been lengthened a bit since I first went there in 2003.

Sarai

While I was in Honduras in November, I was able to stop by and visit my friend Pam, her husband, and their two children.  Pam and I went to Taylor University together and spent our first few years teaching at the same school in Honduras.  It’s always great to catch up with her and reminisce.  🙂  Her daughter was just a couple weeks old when I visited, so we did a mini newborn photo shoot with little Sarai.  I’m so glad she was sleepy and we were able to get these photos.  Here are some of the highlights.  Enjoy the preciousness!  🙂

The Smith Family in the Fall

The Smith Family braved a chilly day with me for some family photos in November and I’m so glad they did!  You may remember my coworker’s lovely family from their family photos last summer.  I love how Tatiana dressed up her little one for these photos and I hope you enjoy them!

Baby N is Here!

As I said before, I’m a bit behind with blogging.  However, I figure it’s better late than never when it comes to sharing photos from the newborn and family session I did with this cute little guy!  Last fall, I posted maternity photos for this family, Kara and Drew.  Kara and I grew up in the same town in PA and now we both live in the Indy area.  It’s a fun connection and I love that they asked me to capture their growing family in photos.  Their son, Grant, came along in September and I really enjoyed photographing their life together when I visited their home in October.  Here are a few of my favorite photos of them together.   Enjoy!
